We are seeking an USA Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate to play a key role in our accounting team.

This position is ideal for someone who has either completed the USA CPA exams, is currently in the process of completing them, or at least meets the USA CPA applicant 150 credits education requirements.

The successful candidate must have strong understanding of USA and Canadian tax laws and accounting practices and will be involved in a wide range of USA and Canadian accounting practice, including but not limited to individual and corporation income/sales tax returns, financial reporting, tax preparation, audit support, bookkeeping, and tax planning consulting services.

Proficiency in Chinese (speaking, reading, writing, and typing) is mandatory, as the role involves working closely with our Chinese clients. The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate and manage financial documents in Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  • Prepare tax returns.
  • Reconcile accounts.
  • Prepare payroll.
  • Plan for translation and interpretation services
  • Prepare income tax returns from accounting records.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Interpret for persons speaking an Aboriginal or foreign language.
  • Set up corporations.
  • Compile, verify, record and process applications, licences, permits, contracts, registrations, requisitions, and other forms and documents, such as Internal Revenue Code.
  • Translate a variety of written material.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and administer contracts and other documents.
  • Prepare income tax.
  • Audit accounting records to determine income, exemptions, payable taxes, compliance with reporting regulations and existence of fraud.
  • Prepare reports and audit findings.
  • Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, the Canadian Business Corporations Act, or other statutory requirements.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entry.
  • Record and balance daily transactions
  • Maintain and manage digital database.
  • Prepare monthly statements.

Qualifications

- Must have a master’s degree in accounting in USA

- Must be an USA CPA, have passed the USA CPA exams, be in the process of completing the USA CPA exams, or at least meet the USA CPA applicant requirements.

- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in English and Chinese.

- Must have USA and Canada Individual and Corporate tax return filing experience and Bookkeeping experience

- Must be proficient in accounting software such as Profile, ProSeries, QuickBooks online and MS Office.

- Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant accounting and financial principles.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Diligent, deadline-oriented, attention to the details, self-initiative

- Time Management - Balances a myriad of tasks; prioritizes duties as needed.

- Accountable - Takes ownership of personal workload, manages tasks, and sets priorities based on business needs.

- Attention to Detail – Attends to details and pursues quality in the accomplishment of tasks, regardless of the volume of duties encountered.
