Oakville ON, Canada Kelly Services (Canada), Ltd. Full time

Kelly's customer, a manufacturer of wiring products, is looking for an entry level Purchaser who enjoys the supply chain process, can build relationships with suppliers, and liaise between Operations, Shipping, and Production departments to maximize fill rates and customer satisfaction. The Purchaser will monitor the day to day fill rates utilizing the company ERP system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work and maintain all necessary procedures to run ERP system (Epicor Prophet 21)
  • Build ERP system via data entry, regular updates
  • Manage and maintain PO's on a regular basis, cancellations, expedites and new order
  • Schedule, confirm and adjust purchase orders, stock transfers, ensure proper set up in ERP
  • Confirm PO pricing, dates, receiving of stock, etc.
  • Interface with Accounting and Receiving to resolve invoice and receiving problems
  • Resolve discrepancies in vendor invoices, approve all price variations and ensure proper costing of product
  • Monitor inventory and ensure no shortages, correct mix, efficient mins/max's, limit slow moving stock
  • Communicate with suppliers to build relationships, ensure competitive quoting, on time delivery and realistic delivery dates
  • Act as liaison between Operations, Shipping, Warehouse, and Production department
  • Prepare and schedule production work orders

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or related degree or diploma
  • SCMA accreditation or courses taken would be an asset
  • Experience in a purchasing/buyer/inventory clerk role using an ERP or MRP in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Experience being accountable for inventory levels and stock value would be an asset
  • Self-initiated and eager to grow into additional role responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Epicor Prophet 21 system would be a strong asset
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in managing a physical inventory a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, task oriented and be able to work well in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • 1 year experience in purchasing position
