Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership, professional expertise, advice and direction related to employee and labour relations including collective agreement administration and negotiations. The Director oversees HR Advisory Services, HR Operations and Recruitment, and Labour Relations, driving strategic initiatives that promote a strong employee-oriented culture in support of the College’s Human Resources and Strategic Plans. The Director acts as a strategic advisor to the AVP Human Resources and College leadership on complex employee relations matters.

The Director of Human Resources should be an experienced, strategic HR professional with experience in employee/labour relations within a large, complex, unionized environment, ideally within the public sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to build and manage a team of reporting HR/LR practitioners across multiple disciplines. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and degree is preferred, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The salary range for this role is Minimum: $122,418; Control Point: $163,224; Max: $187,707. Placement within a salary band is typically up to the Control Point based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity. College may place over Control point in limited circumstances.
