Job Purpose

In this role, your responsibilities as a 4th class Power Engineer will include, but not be limited to, being responsible for monitoring a hot oil heater, offloading and loading trucks coming to the plant, controlling the heat of the tanks using hot oil heaters, manufacturing asphaltic products, loading and offloading tankers, operating mobile equipment, preventative maintenance and other general duties at the McAsphalt Regina Terminal. You will follow all standard operating procedures and policies established by the McAsphalt Operations department.

Reports To

The 4th Class Power Engineer/Operator reports directly to the Facility Manager.

Shift Information

You will be required to work rotations between days and evenings on different work schedules, working weekends can be frequent so the ability to work overtime is required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Qualifications
  1. Power Engineer education with a valid 4th class steam ticket, 5th class working towards 4th will be considered.
  2. Previous experience with high pressure boilers a strong asset
  3. A strong work ethic and ability to work in small teams
  4. A reliable method of transportation to and from work in a timely manner
  5. Ability to work effectively under pressure, being responsible, resourceful and autonomous
  6. Ability to work outdoors, at height and in all environments
  7. Experience with pumps, piping, heat tracing, hot oil heaters will be considered an asset
  8. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications in English with a strong interpersonal attitude
  9. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate level with strong organizational skills
  10. Lastly, a good sense of humor will also be a great asset
