Are you committed to protecting your community? Blackbird Security is seeking to hire a Full Time Overnight Shift Supervisor for a condominium in Downtown Toronto, ON

The primary responsibility of this role is to fully support the Site Director to ensure the smooth operations of a high-end condominium in Downtown Toronto. The role reports directly to the Site Director, and eventually to the Regional Manager for Toronto.

Client Relations & Site Management

  • Key contacts, Post orders, Administrative & communication processes
  • Responsible for ensuring security equipment, like CCTV cameras and access control systems, are operational and utilized effectively.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the client when the Site Manager or Head Concierge is not present.
  • Meet with clients or residents to address and rectify any actual or potential issues, when necessary.
  • Perform and oversee key audits during assigned shift time.
  • Completion of daily parcel audits, investigating any matter of missing parcels, following site protocols for ready-to-return parcels, and updating site manager with discrepancies.
  • Ensure procedures are being follow for party room reservations, and other site specific requirements.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by the Site Manager.

Emergency Management and Incident Response

  • The Shift supervisor MUST be able to handle and lead the team in all matters of emergency such as fire alarms and elevator entrapments.
  • Communicate details to Emergency Responders.
  • Provide directions to the security team when emergencies arise.
  • Guide residents on emergency protocols (knowing what to say and what not to say)
  • Ensure all incidents are reported and submitted to the property management as soon as possible
  • Conduct investigations, and ensure appropriate final action is taken.
  • Update shift logs and proofread incident reports submitted by the attending guard.

Staff Management

  • Manage security staff during shift, including coordinating breaks, training new hires, and aiding the performance evaluation process
  • Provide feedback to the Site Manager on guard performance and recommend disciplinary actions for non-compliant employees
  • Ensuring shift staff understand and are aware of new memorandums that are released.
  • Communicate training and uniform needs to Training Supervisors and the Site Director.
  • Ensure guards are wearing appropriate uniforms and are well groomed up to site expectations
  • Ensure all guards are following assigned site security procedures and have the knowledge and access to site post orders
  • Completing shift logs on BuildingLink; ensuring necessary information is being passed on to the build team efficiently.
  • When required, assist with investigations or special projects. Attend meetings as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A Valid Ontario Security License
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1 year + of supervisory experience, preferably in a Residential Security Role
  • 2 years experience as a Security Concierge
  • Strong Customer Service background is required.
  • Willingness to work overnight regularly.
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Willingness to attend meetings to improve skills
  • Use of Force Certification is required.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Every Weekend
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
