As a Data Scientist at BGIS, you'll play a critical role in building their Analytics and AI Innovation Hub in Toronto. Your expertise in data analysis and modeling will help drive strategic decisions, optimize operations, and develop AI-driven asset management models. You'll be part of a dynamic and growing team that values continuous learning and problem-solving.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Utilize your educational background in a quantitative field to analyze complex datasets and develop predictive models.
  • Apply expertise in analytics to solve real-world problems using machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other data science techniques.
  • Design and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes for accurate and accessible data.
  • Develop optimization models for resource allocation and operational efficiency.
  • Create AI-driven asset management models focusing on cost and performance optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in data science and technology.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of data warehousing, cloud technologies, and big data solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and manage APIs for efficient data consumption and integration across platforms.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts, providing structured data for statistical modeling and machine learning.

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field
  • Over ten years of experience in data analytics with a focus on machine learning, AI, or data science
  • Proven track record of delivering insights and solutions from complex data
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Exposure to LLMs/Generative AI
