Splunk Data Scientist / API Developer Canada

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Splunk Data Scientist / API Developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with mainframe systems, a strong background in both data analysis and API development, and expertise in advanced AI and machine learning. You will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing and maintaining Splunk dashboards, and creating APIs to ensure seamless integration with various platforms and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
the creation and implementation of advanced AI and machine learning models that enhance Splunk’s core functionalities in cybersecurity and observability. Ensure these models are both robust and efficient, adapting to new data and evolving threats.
build, and maintain secure, high-performance APIs that integrate seamlessly with Splunk’s platforms and services. Focus on creating scalable and maintainable solutions that support large-scale deployments.
closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into effective technical specifications and solutions. Drive the alignment of project objectives with business goals through strategic planning and resource allocation.
your expertise in API orchestration to enhance system integration and workflow automation.
an API-first design philosophy to improve the developer experience, focusing on ease of use, comprehensive documentation, and robust integration capabilities. Ensure that all APIs facilitate a seamless and efficient development process for both internal and external users.
and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights using Splunk.
and maintain Splunk dashboards and reports for data visualization.
with mainframe systems utilizing COBOL, DB2, SAS, SQL, and JCL.
and optimize databases including DB2, IMS, and VSAM.
MVS for system management and operations.
developer tools such as Endevor, TSO, CA7 Scheduling, and ServiceNow for efficient workflow management.
file transfers through EBX and TIBCO mailboxes.
with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and performance.
Required Skills and Experience:
experience with mainframe systems using COBOL, DB2, SAS, SQL, and JCL.
platform experience with MVS.
knowledge of databases including DB2, IMS, and VSAM.
with developer tools such as Endevor, TSO, CA7 Scheduling, and ServiceNow.
with file transfer systems such as EBX and TIBCO mailboxes.
experience in using Splunk for data analysis and visualization.
experience in developing and integrating APIs with Splunk.
Desired Skills:
in designing and implementing a variety of API styles including RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL. Ability to build APIs that are not only functional but also intuitive and developer-friendly.
background in software development across multiple platforms and languages, with particular emphasis on front-end technologies and cross-platform compatibility.
with API development frameworks and tools such as Swagger UI, Redoc, and Postman for designing, testing, and documenting APIs.
problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling to support Splunk's analytical capabilities.
verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
