In this role, you will work with the development team to gather details on features we want to develop and use that information to build and execute product testing for ADP's cloud-based Human Resource solutions to determine customer usability before deployment. This role is critical to making sure we deploy usable products. You'll work within an agile team using test automation frameworks to create complex test scenarios before integrating different systems. Your role requires you to advocate for necessary changes to improve the end‑user experience of our payroll products. To thrive in this role, you'll need to be curious, persistent, and at times persuasive. You'll need to be familiar with other HCM or payroll products. You'll use your leadership and persuasion with the product team to implement necessary fixes for the end user’s benefit. As a Senior Lead QA Engineer, you'll also leverage your leadership and teaching skills to train and mentor junior-level QA professionals. Like what you see? Apply now Here's What You Can Expect On a Typical Day Agile. You understand that an agile QA environment requires flexibility. Working in two‑week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards. Time constraints and fluidity of work often mean taking a creative approach to our testing strategy. Your first thought? Bring it on Create & Test. Design, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using established test automation frameworks. Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for large‑scale, complex distributed systems. Perform both manual and automated testing, and accurately identify, document, communicate, and track defects using a defect tracking Investigate and resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and root‑cause analysis. Collaborate. We work collaboratively, so you will communicate and collaborate with technical developers and multiple stakeholders for your products. You'll articulate clear and compelling reasons to persuade developers to make product changes for the end user’s benefit. Learning. To Succeed In This Role You’ll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent. Qualifications & Experience 7+ years of experience in functional QA, including 5–10 years supporting payroll systems Strong experience in Agile development environments and familiarity with the full SDLC Hands‑on experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRA Experience testing complex distribution systemsKnowledge of payroll applications, preferably ADP software Familiarity with mainframe/HOD environments Test Automation & Quality Practices Experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts and frameworks Ability to design and implement test automation frameworks and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of testing best practices, methodologies, and quality standards Skills & Competencies Excellent problem‑solving, debugging skills and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset Innovative, proactive, and high‑energy approach to work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to manage heavy workloads, meet tight deadlines, and remain flexible with work hours as needed to support testing efforts Preferred ChangeMan or other mainframe source control software You’ll Love Working Here Because You Can Have courageous team collaboration. The compensation for this role is CAD $128,900.00 - CAD $178,900.00 / Year* Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state and local laws. In Ontario and/or British Columbia (where applicable), the range shown represents the expected total compensation, including vacation pay and bonus at target. Although bonus has been calculated as part of the expected annual compensation for this role, bonus pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to business performance, individual annual performance, and company guidelines.
