Business group: Canadian Digital Banking Engineering – Applications – is part of the Client Digital Group, focusing on Mobile Banking application to all client customers.
Project: Canadian Digital Banking Engineering – Applications is seeking a QA/QC Test Analyst to support a combination of their ongoing project & Mobile App Regression testing-working on mobile banking and web applications – resources are shuffled around projects based on need. Candidate Value Proposition: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a high-performance team and work on high-end technologies for a top 5 Canadian Bank.

Typical Day in Role:

Stand-up Meeting, Sprint planning, test scheduling and test execution.
Testing as per the Acceptance criteria defined in user stories.
iOS/Android App installation using XCode/Android Studio.
Validation of client side and server-side error messages, requests/responses through Charles Proxy.
Create Test Strategy, come up with Test Device Matrix and review with program team.
Execute test scenarios, scripts, or procedures – Exploratory Testing, Backward compatibility testing.
Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
Validation of API endpoints using Dynatrace.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

5-7 years of hands-on Testing experience with both Native iOS & Android mobile apps.
4+ Hands on front-end UI experience with digital trading platform testing [Quotes, Equity, Options, covered and uncovered calls and puts, Option strategies etc.].
Experience in Wealth Management Domain specifically in Trading is a must.
Experience with order management and trading applications in the equity brokerage space. Functional testing – should know difference between equity and options, how to place trades (front end place trades filled orders and validate UI), regression testing.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

2-3 years Automation testing experience (how to automate mobile apps, no specific language preference).
Native accessibility testing using JAWS Screen Reader + Screen Magnifying tools (all mobile testers run accessibility testing and work with team on developers).
Experience testing on web apps.
Recent relevant Banking Industry Experience.
French testing experience (to validate via Confluence pages).

Soft Skills Required:

Excellent communication skills to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization.
Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight – Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running.
Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism.
Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding.

Education:

Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field.
ISTQB certification an asset.

Best VS. Average Candidate:

Recent experience testing Mobile Applications – iOS & Android.
Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans/Test Strategy, scripts and test results reports.
Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing.
Automation experience.
