Morrison Hershfield’s Horizontal Infrastructure (HI) Business Unit

The HI Business Unit has developed some of the Canadian market’s most notable infrastructure projects and we are highly committed to delivering outstanding quality while meeting our clients’ needs. Our team of Planners, Engineers, and Contract Administrators deliver infrastructure solutions that drive economic growth and social prosperity. Our national HI group is comprised of engineers, technicians, and support personnel with diverse backgrounds in design and construction, committed to delivering excellent technical work and customer service to our clients.

  1. Act as project manager, structural lead, and designer for engineering assignments
  2. Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, construction, and post-construction review
  3. Coordinate work with clients and other disciplines including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planning
  4. Analyze and evaluate appropriate design solutions for transportation structures
Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructions
  2. Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to the client
  3. Conduct business development activities to secure new projects by client liaison and proposal preparation
  4. Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates
Qualifications:
  1. B.ASc. or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering, with strong interest and experience in bridge engineering
  2. P.Eng. and 10+ years' experience in leading large transportation structures projects
  3. Interest in working both in the office and the field environment
  4. Experience in project management
