The Information Services Purchaser adds value through the timely placement of purchase orders, recording of order tracking details, and monitoring of order status to meet customer order requirements and maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports all Business Units and IT with purchase of IS related goods and services; sourcing computer systems, peripherals, cellular devices, and network equipment while creating a dependable supply chain through maintaining relationships with current vendors or identifying new suppliers. Works with Systems Support to ensure inventory stock levels are maintained at appropriate levels and orders new stock as requested by Management.
  • Oversees all aspects of purchase requests including obtaining quotes, negotiating price, and preparing documentation. Creates and reviews purchase orders, ensuring shipping requirements are captured and all necessary details are tracked in the request and purchase order systems, and submits orders to vendors; resolves any issues as required. Facilitates the purchase of non-stock and inventory items for Business Unit or company IS requests.
  • Administers online purchasing systems, reviewing reports of open orders and back-ordered items, expediting, or escalating as necessary. Monitors price increases and communicates changes, as necessary. Responds to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years IT sourcing and procurement experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Management, Familiarity with Computer Information Systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures, including ITIL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of IT supplier base.
  • Strong MS Office knowledge and experience with an ERP system; familiarity with JD Edwards an asset.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Assertive and outgoing personality with an ability to build rapport with vendors.
