New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company is seeking an IT Business Analyst to help our client by providing expertise and external best practices to lead the development of integrated business and process transformation plans for an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) project. They will work with key partners from the project team and the business to provide facilitation of business requirements planning and preparation workshops for projects implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the formulation of strategies, plans, and activities to support IT project implementation and user adoption, and be responsible for required business requirements documentation and deliverables to ensure quality outputs
  • Working with SMEs, document processes for maintaining sound records management practices, including optimizing retrieval, archiving, and secure destruction of records processes
  • Assess the impact of the proposed business requirements on the systems and collaborate with 3rd party technical specialists and subject matter experts to implement solutions
  • Research solution options as required
  • Document business requirements in various forms, such as Business Requirements Document (BRD), use cases, user scenarios, user stories, service design blueprints, business process maps, functional and technical specifications
  • Ensure documents cater to the audience and effectively translate business requirements
  • Ensure that documents are maintained regularly throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct process reviews, process improvement, and impact assessment due to system changes or new implementations.
  • Identify all activities required to support To-Be processes
  • Conduct gap analysis between business rules, business requirements, legislative/compliance requirements and desired To-Be state
  • Support and contribute to reports or presentations on solution options, status of current and future work activities, work plan, change readiness, UAT, etc.
  • Work with project or program team(s) on solution design, ensuring needs and business goals of stakeholders are met throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work with business analysts on other projects to identify critical interdependencies
  • Plan production readiness activities with stakeholders and project/program managers
  • Plan and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Lead and/or participate in functional testing of proposed solution
  • Monitor project risks and ensure all issues are accurately and timely documented
  • Assist with the development of metrics within system related technology and business organizations

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Business Analysis role
  • Experience working in a medium to large-sized IT department/organization with multiple teams of technical staff
  • Considerable related experience in designing, implementing, supporting, and administering a complex, corporate-wide Electronic Records Management system
  • Experience in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is an asset
  • Government experience (asset but not mandatory)
  • Experience in Project Management and/or Change Management is desirable
  • Solid understanding and experience with management, and processes/business functions that relate to the technical ECM architectural constructs
  • Experience with ECM project lifecycle and BA work planning for ECM projects
  • Experience with data or content migration from legacy to SharePoint Online
  • Experience with SharePoint Online as an intranet tool beneficial
  • Demonstrated advanced and current IT knowledge
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet changing priorities and multi-task while meeting strict deadlines
  • Must be a team player and work well with cross-departmental teams
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge, unfamiliar processes, and techniques
  • Commitment to regular ongoing professional development (including leadership and specific IT skills, professional associations, and current industry trends)
  • High level of professionalism and ethics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Work closely and build strong trust-based relationships with new and existing clients while collaborating with the Spot Solutions team members over the entire life cycle of the project
  • Be highly organized, analytical, naturally collaborative, and the primary client advocate
  • Help create a culture as a trusted, friendly and accessible source for knowledge and help

Certification

  • IIBA / PMI / PMI-PBA would be an asset
  • Applied knowledge of change management methodology (e.G. Prosci) is an asset
  • Lean, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) an asset

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology or a related field.
  • Business Analyst (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP or CBATL) or equivalent
