As a Senior IT Security Advisor, you will contribute to protecting IT resources, software, and data against any modification, destruction, accidental or unauthorized disclosure, authentication, and access control by designing, administering, and controlling proven security systems. You will analyze system vulnerabilities and implement protections to maintain, restore, and secure systems.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the responsible party in projects, mandates, and development activities specific to your area of expertise, with significant impact on the company and organization-wide scope.
  • Advise and support your clients and partners in positioning, planning, development, execution, and follow-ups on various strategic projects and mandates under your responsibility.
  • Oversee the development and evolution of policies, standards, models, and programs supporting your unit's strategic projects and mandates.
  • Identify and analyze problems, raise significant issues, establish diagnostics, and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent your unit on various committees composed of senior management members and other bodies.
  • Represent, negotiate, and engage the company in agreements with external partners or organizations.
  • Document technical activities to be planned and identify stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in project activity planning.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct needs and cost analyses and determine appropriate solutions/strategies.
  • Produce analyses of functionalities or tools.
  • Draft guides and procedures related to the area of expertise.
  • Analyze problematic situations and suggest solutions in accordance with the company's governance and security frameworks.
  • Contribute to implementing secure technological solutions necessary for project advancement, collaborate on detailed architectures in your area of expertise, and develop implementation plans for solutions that meet the organization's evolving needs and technological targets.
  • Design technological solutions considering the transversal and specific aspects of each proposed solution.
  • Coordinate a team of professionals during project execution and ensure alignment throughout the project.
  • Support other team members (squad) in day-to-day activities.
  • Coordinate multiple stakeholders from different areas of expertise.
  • Participate in developing corporate targets and transition strategies.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Monitor trends and best practices in your area of expertise to anticipate future needs.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables for projects under your responsibility.
  • Provide coaching for internal resources.
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity.
  • Experience with large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience simplifying and communicating solution requirements, processes, and tools.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge in the following areas: Cyber Defense.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Familiarity with security concepts (security event and orchestration).
  • Excellent knowledge of security ecosystems: (Asset Management and Discovery / SIEM / SOAR / Vulnerability Management (VM) / Risk Management (RM) / Data Loss Prevention (DLP) / Endpoint / Fraud / Internal and External Threats / Attack Vectors, Shadow IT, IoT, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge in monitoring/detection and response (SOC).
  • Knowledge of log and event consolidation solutions, as well as advanced search associated with them.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, etc.)
  • Understanding of global security concepts as a transverse capability: Identity Management, Access Management, Data Management, Logging, Automation, and Monitoring.
  • Relevant experience on at least 3 large-scale projects managed in Agile/Scrum mode.
  • Knowledge of Jira for managing and tracking stories and backlog.
  • Experience in designing or implementing infrastructure.
  • Experience in drafting technical documentation.
  • Writing processes, user guides, or other technical documents.
  • Simplification of complex technical concepts.
  • Integration of cloud solutions (SAAS, PAAS, or IAAS).
  • Ability to write simple scripts in DevOps mode (an asset).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate level of English, both spoken and written, as collaboration with resources outside Quebec will be required.
