Senior Site Engineer - Large Highways Project - Bury St Edmunds

Future Build are currently seeking a Senior Site Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering projects to work for one of the largest Construction and Civil Engineering Contractors in the UK on a long term highways improvement scheme in East Anglia. The overall scope of the project is to upgrade and widen a major A road in the county & form a dual carriage to ease congestion. We are seeking a Senior Site Engineer for a section on the Western section which will include earthworks and drainage, site clearance, temporary works and 2 new bridges.

Please see below a list of some of the key duties and responsibilities:

• Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
• Coordinate site engineering control and setting out activities and provide information to operatives and subcontractors.
• Complete diary sheets along with any photographic evidence as required.
• Undertake material reconciliations
• Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated.
• Carry out as-built surveys on complete works and drawings.
• Produce 2D & 3D site sketches.
• Assist in maintaining quality records, ensuring all works undertaken in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and maintaining the as-built records.
• Assist in basic planning, monitoring & programming.
• Assist in mentoring junior and graduate engineers as required.
• Control and minimise waste on site.
• Identify/assist in introducing new process, techniques and innovations on site.
• Ensure all company property under your control is taken care of and stored securely when not in use

We are seeking applicants with the following experience and qualifications:

• Standard setting out techniques and ability to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS preferred.
• Flexible attitude to work.
• Problem solving skills.
• HND
• Relevant CSCS card.

Previous Site Engineering experience working on highways projects would be advantageous but experience working within other civil engineering disciplines such as water or rail is sufficient.
