General Description

The E4 – Engineer is a professional engineer or geoscientist who applies engineering knowledge to provide engineering, estimating, planning, and quality management services for medium complexity projects and/or operations safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

Location: Edmonds, Remote

Remote candidates within the lower mainland are preferred; however, remote candidates within Canada are accepted as well.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement maintenance programs for electricity generation equipment, including supporting documentation such as maintenance procedures, maintenance instructions, record forms as well as selection of required spare parts to sustain equipment operation. All deliverables with quality, within budget, and on time.
  2. Review maintenance program work of junior asset management electrical engineers and provide adequate feedback.
  3. Support development of asset management strategic initiatives related to electrical equipment (methodologies, procedures, standards).
  4. Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience including most time working in the equipment maintenance and/or commissioning field, or equivalent and minimum of four (4) years of Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.)
  5. Experience with operation, maintenance, and remediation of failures of equipment and systems in the power utility industry, oil and gas industry, or heavy industrial environment
  6. Experience developing maintenance programs and/or developing/performing commissioning plans for a variety of electrical assets including:
    • generator exciter
    • DC power supply equipment (batteries, chargers, etc.)
    • medium and low voltage AC power supply equipment (oil-filled and dry-type transformers, power circuit breakers, disconnect switches, surge arresters, switchgear, power distribution panels, etc.)
    • control & monitoring related components
    • electrical protection related components
Qualifications

Must haves:

  • Must be able to work full-time
  • P. Eng. and Permit to Practice
  • Good decision-making and conflict resolution skills

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of Reliability Center Maintenance (RCM) is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is desirable but not essential
