Hematologist- Plasma Cell Disorders

Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine, The Ottawa Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa

The Division of Hematology is experiencing substantial clinical and academic growth. We are seeking a hematologist to join in our expansion within the Malignant Hematology program as a full-time academic faculty member. The focus of this position is multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders.

The 20+ faculty members in the Malignant Hematology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy programs work within well-defined and integrated clinical and research groups, with a variety of academic pursuits. The Myeloma Program provides specialized care to patients with multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and related hematologic conditions. We are a successful clinical and research group, with a robust and expanding clinical practice, including care with CAR-T cells and emerging immunotherapies. In addition to out-patient clinics in plasma cell disorders, the successful candidate will participate in attending on the in-patient malignant hematology service and share on-call coverage with the malignant hematology group.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in myeloma with an academic path in education, research, or administration. There is great potential for collaboration in any of these areas.

The position is within the province of Ontario AFP for malignant hematologists (POAFP) and remuneration is competitive nationally.

The city of Ottawa, with its 1.2 million inhabitants, has the highest average income and education of any city in Canada and provides a thriving multicultural and bilingual environment.

  • Hematologist
  • Bilingualism (French and English) an asset
  • Masters in Education or Epidemiology an asset
  • Eligible for licensure in Ontario

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
