Job Opening: Civil/Structural Engineer

Reporting to the Manager-Engineering Services, the Civil/Structural Engineer will provide in-house structural engineering, design, and detailing support, as part of a team responsible for the design and detailing of pre-engineered and modular steel buildings.

8-hour days, working on site in our Calgary facility

A Day in the Life...
  1. Performs structural analysis and engineering design for assigned projects
  2. Reviews designs prepared by other members of the Structures design team
  3. Reviews, approves, and authenticates detailed structural drawings
  4. Performs code and technical reviews of bid estimates and production drawings
  5. Provides analysis and design support for bid estimates and final detailed design
  6. Assists with structural quality inspections
  7. Communicates and coordinates with sub-trades and internal departments
  8. Assists in the maintenance and development of standard structural practices
  9. Mentors junior and less experienced engineers
  10. Complies with health and safety regulations
Experience Requirements

Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) in good standing with APEGA

Minimum of 2 years' experience in Canadian industrial and commercial structural steel design

Strong background in all applicable National and provincial building codes, and industry standards

Experience using structural engineering software such as Advanced Design, S-Frame or STAAD Pro is an asset

Proficient in MS Office Suite

Other Requirements

Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation
