Description:

North America Battery Test Lab is seeking a Battery Pack Test Engineer to execute various battery pack development and validation tests to support our strong Electric Vehicle portfolio. The successful candidate has an opportunity to contribute to a world-class battery lab from the launch stage all the way to the full operation. Initially, the role will be focused on training, documentation, and lab launch.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Complete all required training and follow safety requirements.
  2. Become competent in using the hardware and software of the battery pack test system.
  3. Develop work procedures and test report templates.
  4. Execute tests, ensuring high-quality data collection.
  5. Collaborate with lab technicians on test preparation, setup, and post-test battery handling.
  6. Create formal test reports and provide timely updates to test requestors.
  7. Resolve test issues and support root cause analysis.
  8. Maintain training requirements and equipment utilization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Practical skills with laboratory tools and test procedures.
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and visualizing test data.
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and battery testing.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with AVL PUMA or similar battery test systems.
  • Familiarity with CAN tools like Vector CANalyzer and calibration/analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in data processing using MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience with DVP&R test plan execution and ISO accreditation.
Additional Must-Haves:
  • Knowledge of EV batteries, vehicle components testing, and CAN bus communication.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Location: 100% Onsite at ARDC, 3939 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, ON, CA.
  • No driving a Stellantis vehicle required.
  • Occasional travel to the US CTC or MI for meetings (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Indicate travel availability at the top of the resume.
