Your role and responsibilities

ABB Finance is a trusted partner to the business and a world-class team who delivers forward-looking insights that drive sustainable long-term results and operates with the highest standards. The work model for the role is hybrid. This role is contributing to the Finance Service division in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  1. Monthly closing and reporting: assist in the month-end close process including preparing journal entries, ad hoc account reconciliation, and performing and updating monthly tasks. Execute accounting analyses and reports. Participate in solving IG mismatches and ensuring timely and accurate reporting package and disclosures.
  2. Internal Control and External Audit: participate in responding to external audit requests relating to year-end and quarter-end. Perform monthly controls. Ensure compliance with financial guidelines and company policies. Participate in internal control testing and preparing relevant documentation.
  3. Projects: participate in projects and process improvements initiatives either related to systems or structure changes.
  4. Optimization: assist in developing and implementing processes and procedures to continuously optimize and gain efficiency.
  5. Investigation: conduct investigations and reconciliations of accounts as necessary.

This position reports to the General Accounting Manager.

Qualifications for the role
  • Having completed or pending CPA is an asset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Advanced experience of Excel and SAP.
  • Proven ability to effectively work under pressure and within tight deadlines and high degree of flexibility.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Perfectly Bilingual – French & English. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
