We are seeking qualified individuals for 3rd Class Power Engineer. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work a 7-days on/7-days off (days and nights) 12-hour rotation. Financial relocation assistance is provided if required.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the safe and proper operation/functioning of power plant boilers, air compressors, steam condensers, air dryers, generators, fans, pumps, water filtration/supply/discharge systems, and other related boiler plant equipment.
  2. Monitor boiler plant equipment instrumentation and adjust (using computerized and non-computerized control systems) various power services equipment control parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates, water levels, additive concentrations) to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  3. Complete all required log entries, records, and reports accurately and on-time.
  4. Check, inspect, monitor, and maintain the operational integrity of boiler plant services equipment by troubleshooting and following up on all equipment failures in a timely manner, inclusive of minor repairs.
  5. Collaborate with other departments as required to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  6. Test samples and document water quality parameters.
  7. Perform all required duties safely, efficiently, and within required housekeeping, safety, and environmental standards.
  8. Respond to emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate resolution.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience operating plant boilers, air compressors, steam condensers, air dryers, generators, fan pumps, water filtration/supply/discharge systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts, 7 on, 7 off (days and nights).

Education: Secondary School (Required)
License: 4th Class Power Engineer (Required)
Driver’s License
