Your mission:

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our mill operations, with a focus on leading and coordinating various quality-related functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, managing customer relations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our product quality.


  • Leadership & Supervision
    • Direct the lab supervisor and quality engineer
    • Ensure the lab personnel are competent and well-trained.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure the lab meets diagnostic, process, and quality testing needs.
    • Act as the voice of the customer, attending to customer complaints and participating in product development discussions.
    • Implement and enhance quality assurance techniques such as problem solving to ensure product and process excellence.
    • Administer the Management of Change (MOC) process and software.
    • Oversee and ensure compliance with ISO 9000 standards.
  • Sales System Ownership
    • Own the Pulp Sales System (PSS) and be the main contact for any quality-related changes.
    • Understand the platform and determine and set up required reports.
  • Customer Engagement
    • Organize and lead regular customer/sales/transportation meetings, highlighting and addressing customer feedback.
  • Internal Quality Meetings
    • Manage a weekly internal customer quality meeting, tracking action items for quality improvement.
    • Facilitate customer focus group meetings to gather insights and feedback.
  • Innovation & Technology
    • Stay relevant with new technology and innovation in the industry
    • Lead the Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program (SRED).
    • Maintain a tracker for trials and conduct monthly meetings to discuss upcoming trials and ensure proper documentation.
  • Chip Quality Program
    • Lead the Chip Quality program and collaborate with the Fibre Manager.
  • New Sack Kraft Paper Machine (2027)
    • Implement quality testing and processes for a new sack kraft paper machine scheduled to be built in 2027.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of quality standards into the new machine's development.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a pulp mill.
  • Proven experience in a quality management or technical leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations and quality control processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
