Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approvals processes, to compliance management through construction and operations. Our team works collaboratively within projects to gain social acceptance and manage our clients' commitments to the environment and sustainable development.

This is a senior level role and could be based out of one of our offices across the Prairies or Ontario (Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, or Toronto).

Your role within the team:

Reporting to the National Director of Environmental Permitting and Management, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the operational activities of a dynamic team of 20+ employees.

  1. Manage a team of professionals and engineers and implement methods and procedures according to corporate standards.
  2. Oversee the direction of projects executed in the team. (Environmental impact study, permitting, environmental management, biophysical monitoring etc.)
  3. Ensure collaboration within the team, across the Environment technical professional organization and with other technical professional organizations within AtkinsRéalis.
  4. Optimize the utilization rate of the team.
  5. Identify and assign qualified team members for bid collaborations and on project execution.
  6. Contribute to workforce planning through the identification of appropriate skillsets and capabilities to support the delivery of current and future market strategies.
  7. Actively participate in the preparation of proposals setting strategy, financial objectives.
  8. Actively participate in the professional development of the department's employees to maintain a renowned expertise in environmental assessment.
  9. Ensure client satisfaction and compliance with services offered deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
  10. Inspire/conduct a culture of excellence and innovation that delivers exceptional client outcomes, recognized through industry awards and exceptional client feedback / repeat business.
  11. Be a leader of Atkins Realis’ safety, ethics & compliance, equality, diversity, and inclusion culture.
  12. Provide support to our multiple business lines to deliver on their project’s environmental mandates.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in an environment field.
  • At least 10+ years of relevant technical experience, with at least 5+ years in people management.
  • Client centric and able to deliver client success and / or sales.
  • Proven track record of performance.
  • Be recognized for your leadership and excellent interpersonal skills while ensuring a high level of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong people leadership skills demonstrated by collaboration, empathy, and people development.
  • English proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license.
