We are currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our current Foothills therapy team on a temporary basis. We have the following position available following the school calendar (approx. 10 months):


0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) focusing on Grades 1-12.


The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services for children (Kindergarten – Grade 12) in the Division. The SLP ensures early identification of speech and language needs of students and effectively supports interventions focused on speech and language to promote communication competence for children and educational success. The SLP works directly in the classroom with Teachers, Learning Coaches, and Educational Assistants to complete speech and language screening, provide further assessments and consultation as well as direct therapy, and develop classroom-based interventions with individual or small groups of students.


This position provides service to various schools within the Division. The incumbent must be available to work during a typical school calendar year (late August - end of June). A typical work week will be divided by 75% of your time working directly with students/staff and the remaining 25% for administrative tasks such as charting, report writing, planning, etc.


Minimum Requirements:

  1. This position requires a degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized university.
  2. Registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  3. A minimum of two (2) years experience supporting students with speech and language delays/disorders and collaborating with classroom teachers is preferred.
  4. Previous experience with a variety of ages of students is considered an asset.
