Reporting to the Director of Cyber & Security Investigations, the Cybercrime Investigator is a member of a team responsible for the ongoing management of internal/external computer forensic investigations and occurrence reporting to Executives. The Cybercrime Investigator will effectively support a busy investigation team to facilitate the collection and analysis of electronic evidence and the effective use of this evidence in later processes including administrative action and criminal prosecutions when required.

Is this role right for you?

  • Provide digital forensic services including the examination of computers and other digital devices, digital evidence preservation, recovery, analysis, electronic mail extraction and database examination.
  • Ensure that proper chain of custody is maintained and that all evidence recovery and collection methods are conducted, managed, and archived in a manner consistent to maintain preservation and protection of data and evidence in its original form.
  • Identification, acquisition, recovery, cleansing, mining, and securing of large sets of electronically stored information.
  • Manage and perform comprehensive technical analyses and interpret computer-related evidence such as e-mail, accounting software, various databases, and information stored on electronic devices using specially designed forensic software and hardware like, but not limited to: EnCase, Cellebrite, Axiom, and Relativity.
  • Plan, manage, and complete electronic discovery, digital forensic and information/cyber security investigations, and related services for large data sets.
  • Perform investigations on service impacts and identify security control issues.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Support, develop and maintain mechanisms for occurrence reporting and management of cyber and forensic investigations.
  • Provide advisory services to enhance Information and Cyber Security engagements.
  • Translate complex technical problems into terms and processes that support the functional goals, strategic initiatives and business alignment of a dynamic growth company.
  • Ensuring optimal performance of cyber and forensic investigations requests for legal and corporate matters, using industry standards as well as proprietary methodologies and innovative forensic tools.
  • Continue to improve processes including feedback to areas under review regarding control issues.
  • Develop and implement processes and technologies to reduce investigative costs and minimize business impacts during an investigation.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
  • +2 years of current and working knowledge in all aspects of digital forensics, civil and criminal investigation, or related field; or a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of +2 years of documented and relevant experience.
  • Professional certifications and membership of associations in the field of information/cyber security and digital forensics is desired (ex. Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)).
