Responsibilities
  1. Manage the maintenance and engineering department, ensuring accountability for departmental safety, environmental controls, and the development of maintenance and engineering teams.
  2. Oversee equipment condition, technical reliability, and departmental cost controls including budgeting and capital investment programs.
  3. Collaborate with other departments to develop strategies aligned with Plant and Corporate objectives, focusing on safety, productivity, cost efficiency, quality, customer service, and team development.
  4. Ensure continuous improvement in process plant and infrastructure safety and environmental impact reduction.
  5. Support energy conservation efforts through improved equipment performance.
  6. Lead and develop the engineering team in alignment with the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) program.
  7. Implement a structured WCM approach to maintenance, maximizing plant reliability enhancement opportunities.
  8. Own plant reliability KPIs, analyze downtime, and propose improvement initiatives.
  9. Lead PM (Professional Maintenance) and EEM (Early Equipment Management) Pillars with active involvement in AM (Autonomous Maintenance) Pillars.
  10. Support other continuous improvement initiatives.
  11. Ensure engineering teams conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and other required evaluations to established standards and timelines.
  12. Manage maintenance and capital budgets effectively.
  13. Develop and oversee capital projects for the site, coordinating with local and central engineering teams to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  14. Create and submit capital expenditure proposals as required.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  2. 3-8 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance leadership.
  3. Strong team-building skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate personnel at all levels.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Solid understanding of business and engineering principles relevant to manufacturing.
  6. Proficiency in analyzing financial issues, costs, and budgets.
  7. Experience in driving sustainable cultural change.
  8. Self-motivated with the ability to set and achieve strategic goals.
