Job Description

Carmichael Engineering is seeking a Building Automation Technician to support growth in our Service Department in the Toronto branch. The BAS Technician will provide field technical support/service as required for the service and maintenance of our customer Building Automation Systems. This position reports to the Service Manager. As a member of the service team, you will work closely with the service dispatcher and other technicians to deliver service and maintenance of BAS Systems to our valued clients. You shall have a customer focus attitude, be motivated to learn, and be a team player.

Demonstrated ability to:

  1. Use technical knowledge and experience to conduct check-out, verification, and calibration and preventative maintenance of Building Automation Systems and its BAS Field components.
  2. Work under pressure in a service-minded industry being professional and courteous towards customers and fellow workers.
  3. Perform graphical interface and programming controller to accomplish minor HVAC routines.

Excellent communication and written skills.

Job Requirements:
  1. Mechanical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Technician or Technologist Diploma.
  2. 3-5 years of BAS, building automation experience.
  3. Excellent troubleshooting skills and an ability to read complex Mechanical/Electrical Plans, manuals, and programming logic to repair a variety of service issues.
  4. Previous experience with Johnson Controls Systems, Distech Systems a definite asset.
  5. The Candidate must have a valid Driver’s license and is prepared to work out of town from time to time.
