We are currently seeking a Data Science Engineer for a contract role with one of our clients in Montreal, QC. Please apply if you would be interested and available for it.

Duration: 24+ Months

Business Overview: The North America Global Markets Front-Office group provides investors with a full capital markets range of products including equities, foreign exchange, interest rates, swaps, commodities, fixed income, and other products. The IT development team supports the E-communication and voice communication surveillance application. This Data Science Engineer role out of Montreal, CA will be working in the Forcepoint UEBA (BAM+ 9392) application which is used by CCCO and Compliance groups to perform surveillance on various e-communication channels like emails, Bloomberg, Skype, MS Teams, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Work on the enhancement requests on application features from business users.
  2. Work on the voice surveillance side of the project to monitor various voice channels.
  3. Perform transformation of incoming data for surveillance.
  4. Develop Python packages to process unstructured data.
  5. Create end-to-end data pipeline flow to process data.
  6. Create bash scripts.
  7. Work on ways to reduce false-positive alerts in the application.
  8. Help troubleshoot production incidents in a timely manner.
  9. Develop and enhance Data Science models to reduce noise from alerts.
  10. Attend regular meetings and interact with internal and external teams.
  11. Work on multiple tasks and respect an aggressive schedule.
  12. Gather and document technical requirements and specifications.
  13. Work in a fast-paced environment.
  14. Support may include extra hours, nights, and weekends.
Required Skills:
  1. Experience with Big Data technologies including large data stores like Hadoop, Elastic, Apache Solr, Lucene, and comparable stacks.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Python and JSON.
  3. Knowledge of Docker containerized applications.
  4. Advanced knowledge of SQL systems, with experience developing in one of these databases: Oracle, Client SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  5. Strong UNIX skills.
  6. Advanced knowledge or experience with any of the NoSQL systems such as ElasticSearch, CouchDB, MongoDB, HBase, MarkLogic, Neo4J, and Redis.
  7. Expertise in CICD, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
  8. Experience with JAVA, J2EE, JavaScript, Perl.
  9. Experience with Machine Learning.
  10. Experience with all project lifecycle stages – Requirements Gathering to Post Implementation.
  11. Experienced as a team player working in a global team.
  12. Ability to manage conflicting requests on time in a continually fast-moving environment.
  13. Must be a self-starter with attention to detail.
  14. Strong communication (written and oral) skills in a front-office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, statistics, or other related field.
  2. Experience with Front Office traders, IT support, and Operation teams in a Capital Markets domain.
  3. Experience with voice data transcription, silence removal, AI is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of Docker orchestration tools like Kubernetes, etc.
  5. Knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, Google).
