Senior Geotechnical Technician

This role will be based in Vaughan, ON.


Your role within the team:

  1. Plan, coordinate and execute ground investigations for transportation, infrastructure and mining projects.
  2. Perform subgrade inspections and site supervision of earthworks construction.
  3. Install and monitor geotechnical instrumentation.
  4. Collaborate with teams to further technological and digital advancement.
  5. Work on large projects with other groups such as Geomatics, Environment, and Materials Testing and cross-train as required to achieve common goals.
  6. Adhere to rules and procedures that ensure the health and safety of employees and the environment as well as the prevention of workplace incidents.
  7. Be proactive in improving HSE policies and procedures to mitigate hazards related to your work.

The ideal candidate:

  1. Civil Engineering Technology or Geological Engineering Technology diploma and 10+ years of related experience.
  2. Valid Ontario class G driver's license is a requirement.
  3. Ability to work and travel throughout Ontario with the potential for out-of-province assignments.
  4. Positive attitude and uncompromising commitment to health and safety.
  5. A strong belief in ethics, diversity, and inclusion.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Willingness and proven ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  8. Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  9. A good understanding of MS Office.
  10. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  11. Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
  12. Self-motivated and a high level of energy.
