The Role:

As a member of the Corporate Solutions Technology department at IGM, you will be joining a highly collaborative group with the Dealer Platform team. Our goal is to support our clients, advisors, and employees on our vendor developed application, RBroker, by delivering innovative solutions and resolutions to their requirements. As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will work closely with business and technology partners, stakeholders, and external suppliers to support our systems.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Learn and take ownership of areas within our main application, RBroker.
  2. Liaise with business stakeholders to understand industry standards and business objectives to help support the system and ensure their business requirements are met.
  3. Define and communicate system requirements at the appropriate level of detail to ensure applications are flexible, open, scalable, available, testable and maintainable within a high-volume production environment.
  4. Analyze and conceptualize the design of the solution, working with the Systems Architects, Vendors, Software Developers and Quality Assurance/Testing to achieve the client stakeholder objectives through effective deployment of technology.
  5. Apply both in-depth business and technical knowledge, to successfully represent the business and technology community in arriving at technical solutions.
  6. Provide BAU support of existing processes by resolving system issues reported by our stakeholders.
  7. System and process analysis.
  8. Data analysis (SQL, Files).
  9. Incident submissions to our vendor.
  10. Upstream and downstream impacts, both internal and external.
  11. Respond to business requests for system information.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following core competencies and experience:

  1. Demonstrated ability to provide technology recommendations to the business.
  2. Experience working with Developers, Architects and Quality Assurance to design and analyze alternative technical solutions, test completed code and complete a smooth implementation with business partners.
  3. Proficient analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  4. Knowledge, experience, and understanding of architecture, application development, application systems design, and integration.
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in a team environment with projects involving the integration of disparate types of technologies/platforms and agile development.
  6. Excellent ability to summarize complex and sensitive topics to effectively communicate to senior stakeholders.
  7. Ability to self-direct, own tasks and provide appropriate status to leadership.
  8. Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  9. Experience leading teams with varied disciplines and skill levels.
  10. Demonstrated initiative and leadership abilities - comfortable managing issues in cross functional teams.
  11. Capability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships.
  12. Positive attitude, keeping a constant watch on how to do things better.
  13. Adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  14. Conflict and issue resolution and escalation.
  15. Mentoring junior team members including identifying and assisting in career growth.

Technical skills:

  1. Exceptional SQL skills and experience performing data analysis.
  2. Experience supporting and optimizing batch schedules.
  3. Familiar with API investigation.

In addition, the following competencies would be highly valued and considered more favorably:

  1. Knowledge of the Wealth Management and Financial Services industry.
  2. Experience with the R•Broker platform.
