Depending on your interests, this position can easily scale to include a wide variety of diverse tasks such as electromechanical design, project management, product marketing, and sales support. The ideal candidate has a degree in an engineering discipline, with a specialization in control, robotics, or mechatronics, and very strong English writing skills. A strong understanding of how engineering courses are developed is essential, while experience as an instructor, teaching assistant, laboratory coordinator, or engineer would be an asset. Most importantly, you are passionate and dedicated to developing innovative new approaches to education.Additional Responsibilities·      Participate in customer-facing activities, including tradeshows, webinars, customer training, etc.·      Some travel, including international, will be required·      The “go-to” person for technical knowledge related to Quanser’s extensive product line·      Some custom R&D and application development may be required·      Frequent collaboration with technical groups for courseware, applications, demonstrations, documentation, etc.·      Frequent collaboration with other departments in the company, including marketing, sales, and productionQualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized University. Mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, robotics, or control engineering specializations are preferred areas of study
  • A graduate degree in an engineering discipline specializing in control, robotics, or mechatronics, is considered an asset
  • Near-perfect English writing skills with an ability to express complex concepts in a clear, engaging, and professional manner is required
  • Teaching experience as a TA or lecturer is an asset
  • At least 1-3 years of professional experience in a progressive position in a technology company is preferred
Essential Technical Skills ·      Expert skills in technical communication tools including but not limited to digital presentation and multimedia software such as Office Suite, Adobe Suite, LaTeX, etc.·      Strong MATLAB Simulink and/or Python skills·      Programming knowledge (e.g., C++, Java) ·      Experience with control systems and/or machine learning design and development Preferred Technical Skills·      Experience using and developing with ROS 1/2·      Experience using DAQ systems to interface to sensors and actuators·      Familiarity with the tools and techniques of modern digital media including, graphics, video, animations, social media, etc. ·      Experience designing courses and developing course materials·      Experience with source control methodologies such as SVN, Github etc. Competencies and Attributes·      Passion for developing innovative approaches to education ·      Excited by innovative technology·      Excellent English communication and editorial skills·      Thrives in a dynamic team environment·      Prolific while balancing attention to detail with efficiency·      Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills ·      Confident when dealing with cross-functional experts·      Tactful when pushing boundaries, questioning processes, and suggesting improvements ·      Ability to focus, prioritize, multi-task, and meet difficult deadlines·      Comfortable working with minimum supervision·      Open to feedback and suggestions from co-workers and supervisorCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSQuanser has a team-oriented and technologically passionate culture, offering competitive salaries commensurate with experience level and a full company benefits package.
