Job Summary:

The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment and systems in our manufacturing facility. This role requires strong technical expertise, a solid understanding of electrical systems, and the ability to work independently to ensure optimal production uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and machinery in accordance with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they lead to downtime or production delays.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner to minimize disruption to production.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure coordination and effective communication for electrical-related projects and repairs.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications to guide installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance logs.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in electrical technology, industry best practices, and relevant codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Electrician License (442A) issued by the Ontario College of Trades.
  • 5-8 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and controls commonly used in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical faults effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Availability to work on a rotating shift schedule and respond to emergency calls as needed.
