Position Overview:

Viral Nation is looking for a highly-skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic organization. The Engineering Manager is a leadership role responsible for managing and leading an engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions. This role involves a combination of technical expertise, delivery management, and people leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment;
  • Drive team cohesion, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members;
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product management to drive successful project outcomes;
  • Identify potential risks in projects and implement strategies to mitigate them; communicate project status, technical updates, and challenges to stakeholders;
  • Review and manage delivery metrics of the team; provide recommendations to ensure the team is operating at optimal efficiency;
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members;
  • Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality standards;
  • Collaborate with team members and architects to solve complex technical challenges;
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members;
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with individual team members to promote a culture of ongoing feedback;
  • Identify and support professional development opportunities for individuals on the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within an engineering team.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience delivering engineering projects.
  • Strong background in software architecture and best practices in software development.
  • Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Delivery management experience, including planning, execution and reporting.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and collaborate with product owners to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Clear and concise cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field,OR relevant experience.
