We are currently seeking a full-time analyst to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and driven with an interest in climate tech and sustainability. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain direct exposure to investment decision-making and transactions in innovative and growing markets. Role & Responsibilities:   

The Analyst will work directly with the investment team on all facets of current and prospective investments, with a particular focus on the following tasks: 

 

  • Research and analysis of sector companies and the energy, mobility, built environment, and related industrial markets 
  • Provide portfolio analysis including consolidated financial analysis, operational benchmarking, company valuation modelling, ongoing review against original investment thesis, industry developments, among others 
  • Actively participating in due diligence, including preparing memos, presentations, reports, and proposals 
  • Support of business development and pipeline management 
  • Write content and contribute to MKB’s marketing strategies (e.g., newsletter, blogs)  
  • Contribute to the ESG and impact policies and reporting 
  • Review and analyze legal documentation related to investment opportunities 
  • Develop new monitoring systems and processes 
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, and actively network with clients and potential investors  
  • Support team members with any other tasks/responsibilities  


Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Undergraduate degree with outstanding academic performance in either Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Math, Arts & Sciences, or related sector fields 
  • 1-2 years of experience in management consultancy, venture capital / private equity, investment management, investment banking, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) or climate-tech sector related role 
  • Strong quantitative skills   
  • Ability to construct financial models to allow for the analysis and valuation of investment opportunities  
  • Other technical finance skills, such as cap table analysis and investment memorandum creation (considered an asset) 
  • Demonstrated interest and/or commitment to areas of renewable energy, next generation transportation, and sustainability (work experience in these areas considered an asset) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills  
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial drive to participate in a growing business  
  • Ability to synthesize information and solve complex problems creatively 
  • Detail oriented and highly organized  
  • Adaptability and performs well in a fast-paced environment    
  • Outstanding work ethic, dependable and extremely motivated 
  • Capable of working well both independently and as part of a team

Rôle et responsabilités

L’analyste travaillera directement avec l’équipe d’investissement sur tous les aspects des investissements actuels et potentiels, en se concentrant plus particulièrement sur les tâches suivantes :

  • Recherche et analyse des entreprises du secteur et des marchés de l’énergie, de la mobilité, de l’environnement bâti et des marchès industries connexes.
  • Fournir des analyses de portefeuille, y compris l’analyse financière consolidée, l’étalonnage opérationnel, la modélisation de valorisation d’entreprise, l’examen continu par rapport à la thèse d’investissement originale, les développements de l’industrie, entre autres.
  • Participer activement à l’audit préalable, notamment en préparant des mémos, des présentations, des rapports et des propositions.
  • Soutien au développement commercial et à la gestion du pipeline.
  • Rédaction de contenu et contribution aux stratégies de marketing de MKB (par exemple, lettre d’information, blogs).
  • Contribuer aux politiques et aux rapports d’impact ESG.
  • Examiner et analyse la documentation juridique relative aux possibilités d’investissement.
  • Développement de nouveaux systèmes et processus de suivi.
  • Établir et entretenir des relations avec les parties prenantes, et resauter activement avec les clients et les investisseurs potentiels.
  • Soutenir les membres de l’équipe dans tous les autres tâches et responsabilités.


Qualifications et compétences

  • Diplôme de premier cycle avec d’excellent résultats académiques en finance, commerce, ingénierie, mathématiques, sciences humaines et sociales ou dans des domaines connexes.
  • 1 à 2 ans d’expérience en conseil en gestion, capital-risque /capital-investissement, gestion d’investissements, banque d’investissement, STEM (sciences, technologie, ingénierie et mathématiques) ou dans un rôle lié au secteur des technologies climatiques.
  • Solides compétences quantitatives.
  • Capacité à construire des modèles financiers pour l’analyse et la valorisation des opportunités d’investissement.
  • Autres compétences financières techniques, telles que l’analyse des tableaux de capitalisation et la création de mémorandums d’investissement (considéré comme un atout).
  • Intérêt et/ou engagement démontré dans les domaines de l’énergie renouvelable, du transport de nouvelle génération et de la durabilité (l’expérience de travail dans ces domaines est considérée comme un atout).
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite, ainsi que de solides compétences interpersonnelles.
  • Esprit d’initiative et volonté entrepreneuriale de participer à une entreprise en croissance.
  • Capacité à synthétiser l’information et à résoudre des problèmes complexes de manière créative.
  • Orienté vers les détails et hautement organisé.
  • Adaptabilité et performance dans un environnement rapide.
