Role Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance Officer will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and analyzing financial records for the organization.

Qualifications

  1. Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study from a recognized university or college; or a combination of education, training, and experience is required.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar capacity (such as Accounting or Finance).
  3. Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is considered an asset.
  4. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  5. Working knowledge of Accounting Software (preferably Adagio and/or Paydirt Payroll).
  6. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in producing financial reports and maintaining financial information.
  7. Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
  9. First-hand experience in managing day-to-day and full-cycle accounting operations.
  10. Experience developing and implementing financial control processes.
  11. Strong communication skills in verbal, written, and presentational form.
