OverviewFerrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package. As Ontario Transit Group, we are mobilizing our design and construction crews with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030. The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. The co-op role is estimated to start in May 2026 for a twelve to sixteen month term.What is the project?A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).Stations:One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).Benefits to OntarioFaster, more frequent, and reliable access to rapid transit with more than 227,500 people within a 10-minute walk of an Ontario Line station.Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time.Reduce crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway.Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents.Economic and community growth along the future transit line and thousands of job opportunities annually during construction.Reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gases, and fuel consumption by providing an alternative transportation option.Job DescriptionThe salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000.Prepare and submission of IFC drawings markups / redlines required after the completion of Request for Information (RFI), Field Change Request (FCR), Notice of Design Change (NDC), quantities take-offs.Review of shop drawings prepared by our Subcontractor’s and external Designers.Review design changes to the IFC documentation in the form of RFI, FCR, Non-Conformances, NDC.Tracking the performance and the cost of OTG’s external Designers based on the Time and Material invoices that we will receive during construction.Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.QualificationsCurrently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate program in Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering.Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset; you embrace challengesExcellent written and verbal communication skills; you're an effective communicator.Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment; you're adaptableA keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy; you ensure nothing is overlooked.Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment; you enjoy learning from various fields.Must hold a valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record.Willing and able to work outdoors.Additional InformationWe Offer: Competitive SalaryDiversity, Inclusion & AccessibilityOntario Transit Group (OTG) is an equal-opportunity employer.
