This individual will provide mechanical expertise and support the facility in mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets. This position performs all duties assigned to maintenance personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide mechanical expertise and support the facility in mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets.
  2. Troubleshoot mechanical and low voltage electrical failures, identifying the root cause and continuous improvement opportunities.
  3. Perform routine Preventative Maintenance and Work Order tasks as requested.
  4. Identify high-risk downtime areas in a fast-paced production environment and work together to minimize downtime.
  5. Complete maintenance reports and logs as required in supporting effective maintenance systems.
  6. Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas and in the maintenance shop.
  7. Be observant and take initiative when a fault is detected.
  8. Liaise with other departments within the facility, ensuring effective communication.
  9. Work effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety.
  10. Adherence to all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  11. Work in Maintenance team with Team Lead and other team members while reporting to Maintenance Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Hold a valid Millwright license (433A).
  • Be willing to attain your Class "B" Operator Refrigeration License in-house.
  • Previous experience as a millwright or maintenance technician in a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably in food or pharmaceuticals, is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise effective judgment.
  • Solid mechanical troubleshooting ability.
  • Excellent attendance record and demonstrated reliability, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Be able to work overtime if required for vacation coverage, projects, and audit preparation.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating continental shift schedule (2 weeks days and 2 weeks nights).

Schedule:
The job requires working 12-hour continental shifts, which rotates every two weeks. Sunday to Saturday - The shift runs from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm then the opposite for nights.

What We Offer:
Pay Rate: $40.86 per hour
NOTE: The hired person will be given the opportunity to attain their Refrigeration Operator 'B' license and move to Maintenance Tech III role.

Shift premium for all hours worked between 7:00 pm – 5:00 am Weekend premium for all hours worked between 5:00 am - 7:00 pm Eligible for quarterly bonuses upon completion of probation. This position also provides comprehensive benefits and RRSP contribution after probation is complete.
