What you’ll be doing:
Archaeological fieldwork under the supervision and mentorship of an experienced lead/permit holder.

  • Shovel testing of high potential localities, pedestrian survey, excavation of archaeological sites, comprehensive note-taking, artifact recovery, and photography.
  • Assist in relocating forestry harvest block boundaries and road routes.

Fieldwork Preparation:

  • Constructing screens, fixing damaged equipment, prepping gear for the upcoming field shifts, organizing, and maintaining safety equipment.

Fieldwork Access:

  • Drive a 1-ton truck in variable weather and road conditions.
  • Use an ATV in variable weather and ground conditions to access field sites.
  • Navigate through remote and challenging terrain using GPS and maps.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Have a valid Class 5 driver's license with an up-to-date and clean driver’s abstract.
  • The ability to conduct physical labor outside for long hours, in often challenging environments and weather conditions.
  • To be able to work shifts away from home for up to 10 days, often in remote locations.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A professional, responsible, and respectful manner.
  • A high regard for personal and group safety.
  • A high level of self-motivation.
