Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Operations (VP) leads, directs, and oversees the management and performance of all aspects of the Victoria Airport Authority’s (VAA) operations, systems, and services, ensuring compliance with strategic priorities, safety and security standards and regulatory requirements.

The VP works in close collaboration with the CEO, the Board, and other members of the executive team to advance VAA priorities and resolve issues and contributes to the development and implementation of the VAA’s strategic plan and other corporate initiatives. The VP is accountable for the oversight of a multi-million dollar annual operations budget and leads a multidisciplinary team of employees.

The ideal candidate has a broad operations management background, with the proven ability to work collaboratively, effectively, and positively with a diverse network of internal and external contacts and partners.

Ideally, they will have extensive experience leading and managing all aspects of airport operations, including airside and terminal operations, safety, and security for an airport of similar size and scope. The VP will lead by example, motivate others, and consistently identify new methods and process efficiencies. They will be a strategic thinker and leader who is also comfortable working in a hands-on capacity.
