Technical Leadership

  1. Influence KD mid and long-term vision
  2. Influence KD strategy, objectives, key SME participant for review with Fellows
  3. Identify skills gaps in KD
  4. Key SME participant in KD activities
  5. Influence industry standards - Active panel member/chair on Airworthiness related committees
  6. Educate other specialists within the group and wider on technical decision making and influence
  7. Provide recommendations for promotions from ES to SES
  8. Propose implementation/certification guidance for technical innovations based on knowledge of industry/regulatory emerging regulations or lack thereof
  9. Recommend new cost-effective engineering solutions through Knowledge Domains and Programs
  10. Develop network of contact throughout Industry
  11. Lead and coordinate resolution to Delegation and Certification related issues with Regulators (ie. Table of Concordance, DAPM, DAO, Compliance etc.)
  12. Participate in internal DAO and Authority PVI audits and provide technical guidance for resolution of findings
  13. Support rulemaking process
  14. Collect and disposition Lessons Learned with KD for community cross programs
  15. Lead and coordinate solution development for complex certification related problems leveraging transformation and BES
  16. Work to resolve systemic issues affecting continued airworthiness and customer acceptance

Technical Competency

  1. Technical process oversight and adherence
  2. Validate technical processes & Knowledge Standards meet Best Practice
  3. Enforce adherence to BES practices and Knowledge Standards to promote product line integrity and consistency - May perform BES Champion role
  4. Support problem solving in the Knowledge Domain across product lines
  5. Collect/Validate Lessons Learned in own Domain in support of Knowledge Owner
  6. Mentor Engineers from his/her technical discipline
  7. Recommend development action of SESs as part of PDP
  8. Mentor successors
  9. Research technical developments in the industry to remain aware of emerging regulations
  10. Perform RoM business cases and statements of work for technical studies and aircraft studies having multi-disciplinary inputs
  11. Lead Strat Tech team thinking regarding certification
  12. Share Industry and Regulatory Development with KDs
  13. Provide guidance to Applicant for IP, CM, CRI, CAI
  14. Support technical specialist development of MoC for new or novel regulatory interpretations
  15. Participate/support in LOI peer review activities
  16. Prepare/support company inputs to NPA’s
  17. Technical guidance to Programs, Contracts, Customer Support and CARB
  18. Support the Safety team to execute A/C Level Safety, Reliability and Security processes
  19. Multi-disciplinary alignment for Triage, CARB and AOG issues when necessary

As our ideal candidate
You have a Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering and may have a PhD related directly to a field of expertise. You have over 15 years or more of relevant experience in a specific aerospace engineering field. You have experience on at least 2 or more development programs and are an expert in one or more areas, highly recommended with an international reputation. You have advanced knowledge in a specific field and a breadth of knowledge of many aircraft systems. You may perform as a regulatory authority delegate in your field of expertise.
