CoreFactor is searching for an IT Support Specialist on a contract basis for a client located in the west end of the GTA.

This is a hybrid position and will require the successful incumbent to come into the office 2-3 times a week.

About the Role

As the IT Manager you will help define, coordinate, and implement many Organizational initiatives. The role will analyze IT needs, identify risks, propose solutions, and coordinate the delivery of these initiatives. The role requires working with many different IT units distributed throughout North America and Japan.

This role will oversee the maintenance, development, and scaling of the organizations software and hardware infrastructure to continually help the business achieve its objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for supporting stable IT operations that can support the continued growth of the organization
  • Understand the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs to drive innovation and create efficiencies.
  • Work closely with North American IT team to ensure the Canadian entity has access to available IT resources, assures IT tasks/tickets are addressed
  • in a timely manner, seeks guidance to align with global/regional IT policies.
  • Understand the IT systems and programs available within the enterprise that would drive greater efficiency within Canada and determine feasibility of
  • adopting these systems in Canada.
  • Coordinate and manage projects for Canada IT optimization initiatives, including identification of new hardware requirements and procurement of
  • physical server and communication hardware. This will include involvement in the installation or replacement/upgrading of IT and telecommunications
  • hardware and software.
  • Participate in leadership meetings to constantly identify business and technology needs, optimize the use of information technology, and develop a
  • technology roadmap for the Canadian ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
  • Participate in design and delivery of the IT risk management plan across general IT.
  • Provide or facilitate IT training on new systems to drive greater efficiency


Requirements
  • A college degree in Computer Science or related field (bachelor's preferred)
  • At least 4 years working experience in IT, with proven record of accomplishment implementing IT initiatives.
  • Demonstrable experience scaling IT teams and infrastructure in a growing business.
  • Commitment to the timely delivery of robust solutions.
  • Ability to make decisions about highly complex projects, including initiatives that require extensive research and have incomplete or loosely defined
  • requirements and goals.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and lifecycle of software development.
  • Knowledge of database design and modelling, SQL query language and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of IT security, risk identification and management, and IT compliance mentality.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to build a supportive and inclusive team culture.
  • Skills / Education:
  • Post-secondary education in engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years delivering IT initiatives, preferably in the role of a Project Manager. PMP certification is a visible advantage.
  • 2+ years of experience with IT hardware (laptops, servers, communication equipment (network and voice)).
  • Comfortable using relational databases and SQL.
  • Must excel at working independently and in group settings.
  • Must have an aptitude to multitask effectively.
