Entuitive is looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer, based in our Calgary office. Take the opportunity to learn more about the structural engineering service at Entuitive. What will you do?
  1. Structural engineering design and calculations for all structural components including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems.
  2. Design and engineering using materials such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold formed structural steel, and wood.
  3. Works to assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team.
  4. Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties.
  5. Drafts project-related correspondence as needed.
  6. Participates in client meetings facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates.
  7. Conducts review of the architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
  8. Effectively uses QA tools and completes checklists and submits them to the project engineer as required.
  9. Mentors junior staff with design and delivery elements of a project to ensure standards are upheld.
  10. Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time.
Requirements What do you need to succeed?
  1. An engineering degree with a focus on civil and structural engineering, coupled with 4-8 years of professional experience in the AEC industry.
  2. Achieved or preferably working towards professional engineering status in the Province of Alberta.
  3. Knowledge of the appropriate building codes.
  4. Strong project management capability with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
  5. Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and structural analysis software (SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
  6. Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset.
  7. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients.
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
