The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Managing design projects from initial concept/enquiry through detailed design to manufacturing handover.
  • Providing design input on projects and generate ideas for developments and new products.
  • Small projects, or sub-sections or larger projects, produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.
  • Assisting in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Offsite engineering support for new products.
  • Assisting in the preparation of quotes and proposals, providing customer support, and training customer operating personnel.
  • Provide technical support to the production, logistics, and integration departments.


The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have:

  • BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or related/equivalent subject.
  • Suitable design experience.
  • Technical competencies in areas such as structural analysis, mechanisms, hydraulics, assembly methods, inspection, testing, and certification requirements.
  • Experience in ergonomics, tolerancing, limits and fits, and drawing layout and symbols.
  • Desirable competencies include Finite Element Analysis
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, and material science.
  • Safety consciousness and attentiveness to QHS&E policies and regulations.
  • Technical drawing competence.
