Job Summary

We're seeking an energetic and creative business leader to join our Canadian HR Leadership team as Vice President of Communications. As the right-hand person to our Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our company's narrative and employee experience, directly supporting the overall business strategy. If you're a dynamic, innovative, and results-driven communications expert with a passion for storytelling, significant experience in issues and stakeholder management with a proven ability to build strong relationships, we'd love to hear from you.

If you were to come on board as a Vice President, Communications, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  1. Develop and build on a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  2. Bring a field first and operations mindset to managing outcomes in a complex and matrixed organization.
  3. Communicate effectively during periods of change to minimize disruption and maintain stakeholder trust.
  4. Build and maintain positive media relations and public relations crisis to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely coverage of the company.
  5. Protect the company's reputation by proactively addressing key issues and promoting positive storytelling. Lead a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, direction, and mentorship while fostering an inclusive culture that reflects the company’s diversity and values.
  6. Overall accountability for our corporate recognition programs – including program management, associate communications and event planning.
  7. Monitor and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communications and recognition initiatives and make data-driven decisions and enhancements.

  1. You are an experienced leader within Communications/PR/Marketing and have a passion for sharing stories of the company's business and values through various channels.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism or equivalent work experience.
  3. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in preferably in a matrixed organization.
  4. Strong presentation, writing, and content writing skills.
  5. Proven ability to think strategically and drive results-oriented initiatives through complexity.
  6. Understand and navigate public policy issues that impact the company's operations or reputation.
