What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives, validating developed requirements, testing, training, and implementing applications and providing end-user support. The role performs technical depth and breadth tasks, validating and documenting business requirements for assigned projects to maximize operational efficiency and ensure project control procedures and policies are executed. The Senior Business Systems Analyst determines project methods and approaches, providing business support relative to developing, analyzing, and identifying process changes or system enhancements. The role uses judgment and autonomy on daily tasks, providing operational support for projects after implementation, including problem resolution and recommendations to ensure ongoing success. The role proactively addresses problems within the scope of responsibility and identifies areas for possible improvements.

How you'll succeed:

• Elicit and understand project requirements - Work closely with business partners to define project scope and gather complicated business requirements
• Document business requirements – Prepare and validate business requirements documents such as: Business Requirements Document, Agile user stories, and Integrated Requirements Documents
• Capture and document business process flows – Work closely with business partners to identify the current state business process flow that will be impacted by the project; and capture the end state business process that will exist when the project has been implemented
• Collaborate to gather and understand solution requirements – work closely with solution design, ADM, supporting technology lines of business, and QC to gather the end-to-end solution flow and requirements to satisfy the assigned projects.
• Solution requirements documentation - Prepare and validate solution documentation such as: Use Case, System to System Interface, User Interface, Print Specifications, Agile acceptance criteria and etcetera.
