Position: Chartered Accountant Location: Toronto, Canada

We are a small condominium management firm looking to bring in a chartered accountant with both condominium bookkeeping experience as well as experience managing an accounting staff.

Responsibilities

Office Management
Lead a small accounting office and supervise staff members.
Ensure roles are clear and that each member of the team is successful.
Implement current policies and create new policies and procedures as needed.
Ensure the office is well organized (both physical and digital files).
Ensure numerous deadlines are met.
Liaise with site managers in the field often to discuss issues and troubleshoot problems

The company has a small staff handling Bookkeeping, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and some administrative work.

Accounting Functions
Lead and oversee an accounting department responsible for 25-50 condominium corporation clients, some with unique and complicated shared facility agreements.
Audit Preparation. Prepare necessary documents for annual condominium audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Bookkeeping. Oversee the creation and maintenance of financial records for 25 – 50 condominium corporations on a monthly basis.
Prepare or review of monthly financials for each condominium under management.
Accounts Receivable and Payable: Handle all aspects of accounts receivable and payable processes efficiently, through accounting staff at head office.
HST remittances
Payroll, using 3rd party providers such as ADP or Ceridian.
Perform or review regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Ensure that each condominium client has an up-to-date investment policy that is earning the highest return possible.
Ensure that the accounting department is working effectively, efficiently and with minimal errors.

The successful candidate will need to feel comfortable rolling up his or her sleeves, pitching in and just getting the job done without the benefit of a large staff to whom to delegate tasks.

Requirements:
Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Condominium industry in Ontario.
Proficiency in Shiftsuite or similar accounting software.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
