Rizk Law Office is a law firm located in Ottawa, Ontario. We provide legal services to various types of clients (both institutional and individual), with a focus on civil litigation (personal injury and civil fraud), and wills and estates. Sherif Rizk, a member of the Law Society of Ontario, is the principal lawyer at Rizk Law Office. With experience representing clients before various types of courts and tribunals in Ontario, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court, Rizk Law Office is dedicated to providing exceptional legal guidance and representation to all of our clients.
Our firm is looking to hire an associate lawyer to assist with our expanding case load.
Role Description
This is a contract position for an Associate Lawyer at Rizk Law Office, with the possibility of joining the team on a permanent, full-time basis. As an Associate Lawyer, your day-to-day tasks will include representing clients in court, providing legal advice and guidance, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with case preparations and court attendances. The successful candidate will be assigned cases of varying degrees of complexity, be provided with guidance and mentorship to learn and grow, and be expected to work towards building their own practice.
This is a hybrid role, based in Ottawa with the flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a recognized institution
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian law, particularly in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation, and wills and estates
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective client representation
- Ability to conduct legal research and analyze case law
- Experience in drafting legal documents and contracts
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Licensed member of the Law Society of Ontario
- Prior experience appearing before courts and tribunals in Ontario is preferred, but not required
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
Compensation
- $65,000 to $100,000, depending on experience
- Coverage of Law Society dues
- Extended health benefits available upon hiring as permanent employee
