Azure DevOps Lead

Our most trusted partner, a leading financial services provider, is hiring an experienced Azure DevOps Lead who has demonstrable experience working in partnership with a Data function ensuring CI/CD pipelines are implemented to enable our client's data function to deliver high-quality data solutions with agility and consistency.

To be considered for this position, you must have strong leadership capabilities coupled with a strong background in Azure cloud services. Our client is looking to pay a basic salary of up to 90,000 + 25% bonus with a phenomenal benefits package, to be based in Chatham or Wolverhampton on a hybrid basis.

Core responsibilities:

1. Lead the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for data projects, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop appropriate DevOps solutions.
3. Mentor and provide training to junior team members on DevOps practices, tools, and techniques.
4. Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline development workflows.
5. Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure the reliability and availability of data pipelines and services.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and ensure timely resolution of technical challenges.
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and data engineering.
8. Document processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability of data infrastructure and pipelines.

Key technical skill-set:

1. Proven leadership capabilities in regards to project implementation coupled with the ability to mentor/coach/train junior team members is a must-have.
2. Recent project experience leading a data function as our client moves into a cloud-first estate is a must-have.
3. Recent experience in hands-on delivery of DevOps, Engineering, Solution Design, and Cloud Architecture is essential.
4. Strong capabilities in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience and knowledge are essential.
5. Significant experience in creating, managing, and interacting with GIT repositories is essential.
6. Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure Active Directory, App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, and Azure Virtual Machines is essential.
