Job Description

Kongsberg Geospatial is seeking an IT Specialist for a 1-year contract to collaborate with our IT department. The role involves installing and maintaining computer systems with the goal of achieving optimal functionality. A successful IT Specialist must work well with others and have strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. An interest in Cybersecurity is considered an asset.

This position is required to be onsite in the Kanata office 5 days per week.

Duties include:

• Manage help desk system and maintain technical documentation
• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
• Create virtual machines and environments
• Create small cloud deployments for testing and customer demonstrations
• Install and configure appropriate software and maintain latest patches
• Manage software licenses and SSL certificates
• Meeting room support
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance accordingly
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
• Document installation and configuration procedures

You have:

• Post-secondary degree in a field related to IT and/or two years of relevant experience
• Ability to work well in a team environment and with minimal supervision
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Experience configuring both Windows and Linux operating systems
• Understanding of networking protocols
• Strong interest in Cybersecurity standards and compliance
• Knowledge of scripting for automation
• Knowledge of M365 administration
