Eaton is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team for an initial contract period of six (6) months. This position is based at our Burlington, ON Head Office.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Buyer role will primarily support procurement sourcing and management for a key manufacturing site’s direct spend, and will also provide divisional support. You will maintain supplier sourcing and pricing in ERP system, negotiate prices, and conform to Supplier Price Increase policy. This role will also participate in pro-launch and NPI sourcing for site-specific end products. You will drive Cost Out projects to meet Direct Material goals through resourcing, negotiations and VAVE, while maintaining projects in GPS. Reviewing and presenting supplier performance metrics and root cause action plans will be required. The Senior Buyer will act as a divisional support for smaller sites for the implementation of strategic programs.

In this role you will:

  • Support and adhere to SPIR policy and forms for shared and strategic suppliers, and adhere to contracts terms and payment milestones.
  • Maintain intercompany, shared and strategic supplier pricing and supplier information data in ERP.
  • Evaluate and review new supplier setup per qualifications, adhere to Eaton supplier setup and quality policies, including the management of surcharges for common suppliers.
  • Provide Marketing and Engineering support on new product developments, commodity planning and forecasting, and overall support on policy issues and payment requirements.
  • Provide support for NDA’s, LOI’s, bailment agreements and other forms of contracts.
  • Manage Oracle & Ariba PO’s for samples, services and capital as it relates to Lab, Marketing, etc.
  • Support resolving supplier credit holds, assist sites in common IOH root causes and resolutions, and drive reductions.
  • Work with SCM PO reports for compliance to SOX and common IT issues, and identify systems, enhancements, and reporting deficiencies.
  • Support additional procurement analytics as needed.
Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of supply chain buying experience.
  • Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship.
  • Relocation assistance will not be provided. Only candidates that reside within an 80-kilometer radius of Burlington, ON will be considered.

Preferred qualifications:

  • APEX or CSCMP designation preferred.
  • Direct buyer experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement principles.
  • Impeccable people skills and team focus.
Skills:
  • Ability to work with internal functions, stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, drive for results, and personify organizational skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills; PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerBI.
  • Understands the commodity management process; clearly understands how to apply contracts and agreements.
