Bayshore HealthCare’s Northern Nursing program has provided high-quality community health relief staffing services to Canada’s North since 1997. Our Nurses experience exciting assignments in Northern Canada's isolated, semi-isolated, and remote areas. Work closely with diverse Indigenous communities (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) providing care to community members in Canada’s remote Northern communities.
The Work You Will Do
- Work within an expanded scope of practice providing healthcare services to all members of the community
- Apply the nursing process utilizing the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching according to the established care plan
- Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent within the scope of practice
- Utilize strong assessment skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and proven ability to effectively communicate to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format
- Enjoy assignments that are a minimum of four (4) weeks and can be ongoing

Who You Are
- You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and have a nursing license through the governing body in good standing
- You have or are willing to obtain a regulatory license with the College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN)
- You have (3000 hours) two (2) years of full-time experience in the past five (5) years in acute/critical care nursing activities in the: Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or in an acute care setting OR (1500 hours) one (1) year of full-time experience within the past five (5) years working in remote, isolated or semi-isolated communities as a Community Health Nurse OR three (3) years (4500 hours) of Med-Surg experience in past five (5) years
- You are confident and skilled to evaluate the need for further assessment outside of the community if necessary
